| Q | Hi there, I just heard about a sweet wine called Reisling...what is that? Does it have less alcohol than other wines by any chance? Submitted By: Tammy |
| A | Riesling is a white grape variety and is historically grown in Germany and Alsace in France. Austria and northern Italy also grow some but in less quantity. It is a one of the oldest documented grapes – going back to 1435!
IT is a very concentrated wine that has more sugar and more acid and more flavor than most other wines. The wine is traditionally sweeter than most other wines, there is also a more try style though grown mostly in France. Rieslings are excellent food paring wines, actually the best one in the world according to wine/food experts!
